Relevant Buildings is a Proud Host of the 2024 Street of Dreams!
If you live in the Portland Metro area, then you’ve probably heard of the NW Natural Street of Dreams. Hosted by the Home Building Association (HBA) of Greater Portland, the Street of Dreams features incredible homes that were built to inspire. When HBA asked us if we would join the tour this year, we of course said yes! Relevant Buildings will be showcasing two of our favorite homes on the tour: the Teahouse and the Ramona.
The Teahouse
The Teahouse is adequately named for its “T-shaped” layout. This home consists of two 20’ containers and one 40’ container with generous bump-outs for extra floor space. Entering the home, you are welcomed into the open-concept living room, kitchen, and dining space. Past the entryway are the two bedrooms, laundry closet, and bathroom. We offer two roof types to choose from, giving you the option to pick what best fits your needs. This home is just small enough to be an accessory dwelling unit (ADU), yet still large enough to be your main home.
The Ramona
We like to call the Ramona a “hybrid.” It features a 40′ shipping container in the back and a wood-framed portion in the front. Aside from the roof, this home is fully built in our shop and will be delivered to your site as one module. The sloped roof and wood lap siding allow this home to blend in with traditional homes while maintaining the novelty of being a shipping container home. A favorite trait of this house is the deck that hangs from the container’s open doors. The size of this home makes it perfect for an accessory dwelling unit (ADU).
We will also be inviting attendees to take a special look behind the scenes to see what goes into building a container home. You’ll see everything from the metal fabrication of the container up to drywall and finishing touches. This portion of the tour will include brand new models in various stages of completion that we haven’t had open for tours until now.
You won’t want to miss this year’s tour. We are one of 15 home builders who are participating in the Street of Dreams, and there are over 20 homes to see along the tour.
